Description: Fine Willie Mays autographed professional model baseball bat c.1963. Louisville Slugger 125 model bat with "Mays" block lettered into the barrel measures 35" long and weighs 32.6oz. Model number "S2" has been factory stamped in the knob. Evident usage wear with visible ball marks, stitching impressions, and cleat marks along with evident red rack marks. Signed with uncommon inscriptions in black marker rating 8/9 out of 10, "Willie Mays #24 660 HR." A choice example dating to a particularly productive period in his Hall of Fame career. The bat originated from a long time acquaintance of Willie Mays who resided near the Giants Spring Training location in Arizona. It was obtained directly from Mays along with a number of other vintage items in the period including the 1960s era single signed baseball within this auction.
