Description: Tom Yawkey Boston Red Sox professional model hat c.1940s. Classic blue hat has the Red Sox "B" logo on front done in red on white felt. "Tim McAuliffe" manufacturer's tag remains on the interior leather band which has the name "Tom Yawkey" embroidered in chain stitch. Size "7 3/8" is stamped inside. Well preserved with evident usage and some general age related wear including some cracks to interior material of hardened brim. There are a handful of moth holes and a few loose stitches. An included letter of provenance signed by well known Red Sox clubhouse attendant, Johnny Orlando, states that Yawkey wore the hat while working out at Fenway Park.
