Description: 1927 Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig autographed baseball. Red and gold stitched Spalding "Official Cork Center" baseball has been signed on the side panel, "Babe Ruth" and "Lou Gehrig." Both are done in period fountain pen rating 7/8 out of 10. Ball displays soiling and evident usage wear. An outstanding example for display with highly uncommon signature positioning. Obtained by George Castagnola who played on Gehrig's "Larrupin' Lou's" barnstorming team during a stop in Santa Barbara, California. Includes 8"x10" photo (modern print) of the "Larrupin' Lou's" barnstorming team (with Babe Ruth), letter of provenance from the Castagnola Family, and full LOA from JSA: Overall EXEstimated Price Range: ($7,500-$10,000)
