Description: Gabby Hartnett professional model baseball bat c.1934-41. L.Slugger 125 model bat measures 35" long and weighs 32oz. with handsome graining. Centerbrand and facs. signature stampings remain very strong with bat showing great usage wear incl. handle crack, barrel wear incl. ball/cleat markings, and has been factory side written (faded but partially visible). Vault marked P2 model number is stamped on both knob and barrel ends indicating that the bat was ordered by Hartnett and returned to H&B by another player (name not readable). Hartnett is regarded as one of the finest catcher's in Major League history for both his offense and defense. Amazingly Hartnett played for all but one of his (20) years for the Chicago Cubs batting .297 lifetime and leading the league in fielding average four times. Incredibly fine and visually attractive game bat from this popular Cubs HOF'er with less than (6) examples known. Includes LOA from SCD Authentic D.Bushing/D.Knoll and letter of provenance from the Hillerich & Bradsby Co: EX
