Description: Scarce Cy Young baseball decorative cigar box c.1901 (Ex Barry Halper Collection with possible Cy Young Collection attribution). One of only a scant few documented exemplars known of this iconic baseball endorsed box. Exterior features Victorian script markings on top incl. ±Cy Younge and retains complete tax stampings w/date, borders, and color litho. label of Young superimposed over a game scene on side apron. Interior reveals a spectacular color litho. image of Young in uniform flanked by a game scene that is equal to any baseball related cigar box with relation to quality and content. Very fine overall condition with expected light to moderate age/handling wear. The provenance of this particular box can be traced to the Barry Halper Collection who was believed to have acquired the box (along with other items) directly from the estate of Cy Young: EXEstimated Price Range: ($4,000-$6,000)
