Description: 1970 Mickey Vernon Kansas City Royals professional model road uniform. Grey flannel jersey and pants were worn by Vernon while serving as a hitting instructor for the Royals. Jersey retains its original script "Kansas City" team name across the front (rare two year style) with #11 on the back. Wilson mfg. label remains on the tail front with Royals logo patch on the left sleeve. Matching pants have "Doc Canton" chain stitched strip tag inside the waist and dated 1972 strip tag as well. The uniform #11 was assigned to Hal McRae at the Major League level as Vernon was an unofficial hitting instructor for the team. Includes LOA from Hunt Auctions, letter of provenance from the Vernon family, and a vintage black and white photo of Vernon wearing a later Royals jersey in a subsequent year: EX
