Substantive sterling silver bowl was presented to Mickey Vernon for his participation in the 1956 All-Star Game played at Washington. The bowl is inscribed on the front "All-Star Game Washington July 10, 1956" and is marked "Sterling" on the bottom by noted New York silversmith Gorham. The offered award was one of Vernon's most treasured with the game having been played at his home stadium in Washington. 12" in diameter, the bowl weighs 42 troy ounces.
