The very first auction at Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory in 2004 proved to be an unforgettable sale as Louisville opened its archives of photographs, advertising displays, and of course, game used bats, to eager collectors. On offer was a Ty Cobb professional model baseball bat c.1911-15 with factory side writing ($132,000), two Louisville Slugger baseball bat decal folio pages ($10,450 each), and a letter sent to Mr. Bradsby signed by Babe Ruth six times ($41,800). Highlights from other consignors included an extremely scarce 1949 Satchel Paige Cleveland Indians home jersey ($110,000), and a "Shoeless" Joe Jackson professional model baseball bat ($137,500). Price includes shipping and handling.
