Description: 1931 W517 Strip Cards partial set (36 of 59 cards) incl. Ruth and Gehrig (Overall range GD-EX/MT appearance with note to trimmed/handcut edges) Large grouping of cards giving an overall GD-EX/MT range in appearance (one or two slightly lesser) with note their handcut nature. Most have irregular edges which are cut right to the printed portion. This would likely qualify them to have been "trimmed" as (even though cut from a strip) they are most often found with more material at edges. All appear to have been mounted at one time with some evidence on backs (this ranges from very light - almost imperceptible - to moderate). Varying degrees of corner/edge wear throughout with most creasing/wrinkling being relatively minor. One card (#22 Dykes) has background largely trimmed away to outline of player. Note - grade noted for keys are given based on overall appearance of front, bear in mind the previously mentioned mounting evidence on backs and irregular handcut/trimmed edges.
