| Description: 1970 Ted Williams "Governor's Baseball Award" by Balfour "For Outstanding Achievements" (EX/MT) 10"x12" Wooden presentation plaque bearing affixed 4.75" diameter bronze relief of batter with garland surround which has shield at lower center lettered, "Governor's Baseball Award." Below is a engraved metal placard which reads, "Honoring Ted Williams, Manager - Washington Senators, For Outstanding Achievements in our National Pastime Baseball - His Continuing Interest in North Carolina and Recognizing his Superlative Performance as American League - Manager of The Year 1969, February 12, 1970, Robert W. Scott, Governor - State of North Carolina, Raleigh Chapter - National Hot Stove League." Very light general wear to plaque which retains 99% of original rich dark finish on front.
