Description: 1966 Wally Bunker Baltimore Orioles home jersey. Completely original and unaltered, this classic cream-colored flannel jersey retains its original "Orioles" team name across the front as well as #27 on the front and back. Original black felt lettering on the back reads “Bunker”. Wilson manufacturers tag noting size “44” is stitched on the front tail. "66-3" year and set designation is chain stitched onto a tag on the tail front as well. Teams of this era were typically issued two sets of home and road jerseys. The set 3 designation bolsters the provenance that this jersey was likely used in World Series play in 1966. Wally Bunker pitched a dazzling complete game shutout in Game 3 of the 1966 World Series, helping the Orioles to a four game sweep of the Los Angeles Dodgers. The shirt exhibits evident use with no significant structural faults and ideal display quality. Jersey originates from the collection of Paul Thiebaut, Sr. who was a scout for the Baltimore Baseball Club in the 1960s. Includes LOA from Hunt Auctions and letter of provenance from the Thiebaut family: EX-MT
