| Description: Unique Lou Gehrig travel bag c.1920-30s. Handled leather travel bag with "H.L. Gehrig" in gilt lettering on a side panel. The lettering exhibits appropriate age crazing with some minor flaking while remaining clearly visible and generally intact. The bag itself measures 23" long retaining its original handles. The zipper top is damaged from age and use, although it does remain complete. Exterior leather surface shows evident use with some small to moderate abrasions and a few areas of cracking. Attached by a period metal ringlet to one handle is a 3 1/2" long "Yankee Base Ball Club" impressed leather identification fob as seen on other similar Yankees equipment bags of the period.
