| Description: Vintage Joe DiMaggio single signed baseball c.1937-38. Lt. toned Spalding official "Joe DiMaggio" league ball signed on a side panel, "To Dorothy With Best Wishes and lot of luck J.DiMaggio". Signature and salutation rate 7 out of 10. The ball itself has some age spotting and features a Joe DiMaggio facsimile signature stamping on the sweet spot. The offered baseball is, to the best of our knowledge, the earliest single signed Joe DiMaggio baseball that we have encountered. The only other documented 1930s era DiMaggio single signed ball that we know to exist is offered as Lot 994 within this catalogue and, in our opinion, post dates this ball by at least a year.
