| Description: 1949 Joe DiMaggio Day trophy plaque. Very handsome plaque remains in pristine original condition as presented to Joe DiMaggio at ceremonies held at Yankee Stadium on Oct. 1, 1949. Shield shaped mahogany plaque measures 15" tall having an applied bronze baseball batter figural with "Good Luck Joe" raised lettering. Arch shaped placard at the top has raised lettering, "Joseph P. DiMaggio Baseball's Greatest Italian-American October 1st 1949". Two bronze flagpole figurals each hold a linen U.S. flag. Bronze scroll placard at the bottom reads from the "Grantwood Italian-American Citizens Club". Very fine vintage figural trophy plaque presented to Joe DiMaggio during the historic Yankee Stadium ceremonies held in his honor: NM |
