| Description: Rare Heubach German bisque porcelain baseball figurine c.1880s. Seldom offered large size variation batter figurine stands 16" tall with hand painted red pinstriped uniform. Very clean example has only a small portion of one finger tip missing and a few minute rim flakes along the bottom of the base. Bat is a period wooden replacement. Impressed German manufacturer stampings "Geschuetzt-Gesetzlich" appear under the base. The offered figurine was discovered in the Tennessee area along with the other two figurines in the sale and is being offered within the hobby for the first time: NM |
