| Description: Fine Stall & Dean Championship Cup trophy with Ty Cobb decoration c.1916. One of the most finely crafted and attractive baseball related trophies of its era is the Stall & Dean Cup as awarded to the various champions of the baseball leagues during the period. The trophy is of a base metal having a French polished bronze applique finish standing 8 1/2" tall on three hooved feet. A beautiful image of Ty Cobb in batting pose adorns the front of the trophy. Marked Reed & Barton silversmiths on the bottom, trophy shows light general handling wear retaining a fine original surface. Includes 1916 Stall & Dean equipment catalogue which pictures the exact trophy as offered to the various leagues. One of only three exemplars that we have encountered: EX-MT |
