Description: Minnie Minoso 1960 Gold Glove award. Significant award as presented to Minoso in recognition of his outstanding defensive accomplishments for the 1960 season. Handsome mahogany plinth style base and backsplash has applied engraved brass appointments denoting Minoso's inclusion among the American League Gold Glove recipients. The brass placards on base and backsplash each display some mild areas of "pitting" under the polished surface from age corrosion. Overall appearance is very fine. Minoso's prowess as an exceptional defensive outfielder was well known during the 1950-60s era, consistently ranking among the elite players in the league. The 1960 season was his finest defensive campaign, leading all Major League left fielders in putouts, assists, and double plays, and capturing this offered Gold Glove Award which was the final of three earned during his career.
