Description: 1904 William Gummere autographed document - participant in the first intercollegiate game played in America. New Jersey Supreme Court document dating to 1904 has been signed by Gummere in fountain pen rating 8 out of 10 with short handwritten statement. Gummere was team Captain for Princeton, and by default their Coach, and participated in the November 6, 1869 game played vs. Rutgers. This is believed to be the first intercollegiate football game in American history and was part of the inaugural college football season.
