Description: Exceptional Ted Williams autographed professional model baseball bat c.1955-57 (Breitbard Collection Provenance). Louisville Slugger 125 model bat measures 35" long and weighs 33.4oz. Indication of game use is superb throughout the bat including ball marks, stitching impressions, rack marks pronounced cleat marks, and appropriate grain swelling to specific hitting surface area. Model number W183 stamped on knob end with pronounced "9" uniform number written in period black ink. The barrel end has been uncommonly signed in blue sharpie, "Ted Williams 1941-406" rating 8 out of 10. The offered bat was one of the more treasured pieces withn the collection of Bob Breitbard having been received directly from Williams during their lifetime friendship. Included with the bat are two original photographs picturing Breitbard with Ted Williams one of which depicts Williams presenting him with a similar bat. Based on direct primary source provenance, presence of Williams' autograph, specific use characteristics, and overall condition we are absolutely confident the offered example is among the finest Ted Williams game bats to have been offered publicly.
