Description: Significant 1967 Orlando Cepeda National League Most Valuable Player Award. Important original award as presented to Cepeda for his efforts in leading the Cardinals to a World Series Championship. Measuring 16" across, it has an octagonal sterling silver placard affixed at front with 10K gold appointments to include bust of K.M. Landis positioned below the second base position of a baseball diamond. "Orlando Cepeda" engraved 10K gold nameplate below "Most Valuable Player National League" titling, "St. Louis Cardinals" team name, and a crossed bats/baseball applique which notes year, "1967." Marked, "Dieges & Clust Sterling" at lower front and their original tag remains in place on the back. Silver placard surface exhibits minimal wear with some typical surface scratching to the black painted wooden plaque front. Reverse of the wooden plaque has a secondary coat of vintage black paint. One of the more popular Cardinals players who played an integral role in their championship teams of the late 1960s period. Includes LOA from Hunt Auctions: EX-EX/MT
