Description: *Updated description* Important 1913-14 White Sox and Giants World Tour journal with numerous player and dignitary autographs. Red leather tri-fold travel journal is gilt lettered "My Trip Abroad" on the front with the name "Mrs. James Callahan" on the interior. A handwritten account including detail related to travel, games, and players, as dutifully recorded by the wife of Manager James Callahan, fills a good number of the interior pages. Also inside are (4) pages of autographs which include players, their wives, and other participants. Notable signers include Sam Crawford, John McGraw, Charles Comiskey, Buck Weaver, Tris Speaker, Red Faber, Bill Klem, Mike Donlin, Germany Schaefer, Lee Magee, Bunny Hearne, Ivy Wingo, Hooks Wiltse, Larry Doyle, Tom Daly, and Steve Evans. Jim Thorpe has been deemed secreterial. Ink/pencil handwriting and signatures rate 7 to 8 out of 10. Book itself has mild general handling wear with some chipping and very small tears to exterior leather casement.
