Description: Rare c.1950s Nellie Fox attributed Chicago White Sox professional model hat with prototype helmet insert. Classic cap done in deep blue with red and white embroidered "Sox" team logo. A "Wilson Professional Cap" manufacturers tag remains on the interior leather band which has size "7" stamped on the underside. Inside is an exceedinly rare early batting helmet like plastic insert with brown leather padding. Both this insert and the cap itself have the player number "2" written on in period marker. The pair remain in outstanding overall condition with light general usage and age related wear.Estimated Price Range: ($2,000-$4,000)
