Description: 1978 San Diego Stadium homeplate. Original regulation sized homeplate as used in the Padres home venue during the season in which they hosted the Major League Baseball All-Star Game. Unmarked and showing wear consistent with long term use, it has appropriate scuffing and wear throughout. The hollowed interior has "1978 SD Stadium Home Plate" written in marker. The base originates from the collection of a former Padres team official in who's' possession it has remained since being removed in the period.
