Description: Outstanding 1943 War Bond Benefit Game autographed baseball including (7) Hall of Fame Inaugural Class Inductees. Red and orange stitched Spalding F.Frick Official National League baseball has been signed by Babe Ruth, Walter Johnson, Eddie Collins, Honus Wagner, Tris Speaker, Red Murray, Connie Mack, Duffy Lewis, Frank Frisch, Hank Gowdy, and George Sisler. All are done in period fountain pen rating uniformly strong 8-8/9 out of 10. Ball displays mild even toning and some light use/wear. A clear coat of shellac was applied long ago to aid in preservation and there is a notation across the sweetspot reading, "Old Timers Game 1943." The group had gathered at The Polo Grounds in support of the war effort; the second such meeting of Ruth and Johnson whom had faced each other in a similar exhibition at Yankee Stadium in 1942. The assemblage of talent no doubt had intended effect and this resulting autographed "team" ball is host to some of the greatest names in baseball history. Includes full LOA from JSA: Ball EX, Sigs.
