Elegant award piece executed in gold with an inlaid red enameled border having -Boston Red Sox Baseball Club World+s Champions+ text. The year -1912+ is at the center, set within baseball field decor, and accented with a pair of raised bats. Just above sits a large diamond of approx. .5 carat weight. Engraving on the back reads in full, -Presented To Joe Wood By Boston American B.B. Club+ and it is marked -14K+ and -Frank A. Gendreau, Boston.+ The charm weighs (20) grams and measures approx. 1.25+ across. Likely intended for use as a watch fob, the small handful to have surfaced from other team members are done in a smaller and far less intricate design. Just 22 years old in 1912, Smokey Joe Wood put forth an exceptional season long effort winning (34) games en route to a World Series appearance against the New York Giants.
