Description: Rare "Third World Championship Game" (Super Bowl III) poster c.1969. Desirable piece, done in the period, is styled in similar fashion to the game tickets issued for January 12, 1969 AFL vs. NFL event which was the first to be called "The Super Bowl." Assumed a better team, from a superior League the Baltimore Colts were heavily favored heading into the game. During an appearance several days before the game in Miami, Jets quarterback Joe Namath famously "guaranteed" an AFL win and New York followed through winning 16-7. Exceedinly rare poster is the only example we have handled and was likely done for promotional purposes.
