Description: 1971 LeRoy Neiman original artwork - Muhammad Ali vs. Joe Frazier, "Round 12." Desirable original watercolor and marker work captures Frazier landing a punch in what has become one of the most celebrated Heavyweight Championship bouts of all-time. Done on 12"x16" paper and signed "LeRoy Neiman" with his handwritten notations, "Ali-Frazier Madison Square Garden 3-8-71" and "Round 12." The piece retains fine display qualities with some light wrinkling and has mounting residue on each back corner resulting from prior display (none woulc be visible when framed for display). Renowned for a body of work which captures many of the most important atheletes and sporting events of our time, Neiman has a close association with boxing having done many iconic fight posters and program covers. Originals are highly sought after with substantive pieces dating to this important time in his career among the most prized. This piece is being offered publicly for the first time and is a direct donation from the Neiman Foundation to Legacy Exists, the Joe Frazier Scholarship fund. Maintained by the Frazier Family, Legacy Exists supports at risk youth with a variety of educational, social, and recreational programs.
