Description: Exceptional Willie Stargell 1969 home run attributed professional model baseball bat (PSA/DNA GU 10). Louisville Slugger 125 model bat with Stargell facsimile signature burned into the barrel measures 34.5" long and weighs 32.9oz. Outstanding usage wear can be found throughout with- ball and stitch marks covering the barrel which has some light grain swelling due to repeated contact. The handle has been lightly scored for grip and a light coat of pine tar appiled. In addition, there are blue and red rack marks along with some scattered cleat marks. A vintage dymo label attached to the bat reads, "Bat Used Stargell On Aug 26 69 - Hit Ball Over R F Roof." His jersey number "8" is written on the knob in period black marker and it also appears in faint/faded marker on barrel end. Stargell bats dating to this early in his career are notably rare and the offered is unquestionably one of the best we have handled. It has resided since 1969 in the collection of the individual whom obtained it directly from Stargell and applied the dymo label in the period. Offered for the first time publicly.
