Description: 1927 Ty Cobb autographed thank you note in response to support during game fixing scandal. Heavy stock 4.25"x5.5" note card has been signed in period fountain pen, "Ty Cobb" rating 8 out of 10. Text reads in full, "Dear Sir: Your letter was received. I want you to know I appreciated deeply your thoughts and sentiments. It was very consoling to know the attitude of my friends during the unfair and unfortunate proceedings." Card has some mild to moderate areas of discoloration and light additional wear. Professionally removed from a scrapbook page where it resided for decades. A significant and substantive piece related to an ill fated event in Cobb's notable career for which all charges were dismissed by Commissioner K.M. Landis at a hearing.
