Description: Roy Campanella Los Angeles Dodgers professional model hat as worn c.1970s. Classic blue hat with "LA" embroidered team logo on front retains the "New Era+Pro Model" tag on interior leather band. Strong usage wear can be seen throughout with mild soiling. Following the tragic accident which ended his career, Campanella was often involved in Dodgers team related events starting with Roy Campanella Night in 1959 and continuing through the 1960s and 70s with Spring Training, Old-Timers Days, and a host of other occassions. Though he did not suit up in full uniform, Campanella could always be seen wearing a Dodgers hat. This hat has been retained by the Campenalla Family and is the example which he can be seen wearing in photographs taken during events in the 1970s. Hat with primary sourcing are notably rare with the offered being an ideal alternative to a playing career era example.
