Description: 1913 Homestead Grays large format team photograph with Cum Posey. Important early photograph shows Hall of Famer Posey with the team he had founded just one year prior and would grow into one of the most storied Negro League teams in history. Sepia toned image portion measures 7.75"x9.5" matted and framed with some light general soiling, a small amout of spotting which effects the middle of the lower half, and some discoloration to lower right corner. There is a chip to each left side corner and another (on left) which is below a very small tear. One small spot of loss appears over the printed in text/titling at bottom. The larger cabinet mount backing has wear and chipping/loss throughout. This, and the bulk of all other noteworthy wear, is not visible when the piece is framed for display.
