Description: 1940 Harry Craft Cincinnati Reds World Series Championship ring. Desirable original ring has "World Champions Cincinnati Reds" lettered around the top face which has an inset diamond displayed against red stone background. The year "1940" is in relief at top of either shank with Reds team name/logo below. Engraved on the interior band, "Presented by Baseball Commisioner to Harry Craft" and marked "14K." A cherished momento of his of time with the team, the ring displays wear throughout with loss to both the red and blue enameled areas. The Reds captured National League titles in 1939 and 1940 with Craft playing Centerfield regularly through both seasons. Leaving baseball in 1942 to serve in the Navy he never made it back to the Major Leagues as a player but did remain involved in the game for many years as a Manager.
