Description:Fine 1914 Buck Herzog Cincinnati Reds Stolen Base Leader presentational bat. Figural metal bat has barrel area engraved with text reading in full, "Barker & Freisens Tophy Presented to Charles Lincoln Herzog, Manager of the Cincinnati Base Ball Club, Having The Greatest Number of Stolen Bases During Season 1914." All set within a fancy garland style border. The bat, measuring 32" long, is hollow and cast in metal which is possibly silver plated (though unmarked). Lettering remains bold, deep, and fully decipherable; there is some light surface wear scattered throughout the bat along with some scattered indentations (the most notable of which appears over the name "Freisens"). In his first season as Reds player/Manager Herzog stole (46) bases to lead the team finishing second League wide. He tallied (312) total during his career which spanned 1908-1920: EX
