Description: Fine Johnny Pesky Boston Red Sox professional model hat c.1942. Exceptional period examplar remains in unusually strong condition with just a touch of light useage and natural age wear. Classic design employs a blue crown and brim with sewn on "B" team logo. This style of hat was utilized by the Red Sox during Pesky's 1942 Rookie season. Upon his return to the team in 1946, following (3) years of military service, the "B" at front had shifted to multi-color red over white. The interior leather band has stamped on "Spalding" logo along with applied Tim McAuliffe resellers tag. The name "Pesky" has been chain stitched in along with size, "7."
