Description: Exceptional Kid Nichols single signed baseball. Bold blue ink "With Sincere Regards, Charles Kid Nichols" full name signature appears across the sweetspot of a MacGregor Goldsmith "Official League" baseball. The signature rates 8 out of 10 and contrasts well against the ball's lightly toned surface. Given the significance and condition grade of the offered baseball, and for the sake of accuracy, we note a few extremely minor scattered condition imperfections which would not typically warrant mention. These include a minute area under the signature where a tiny line of modern era ink was professionally removed. This is detectable only under magnification and has no negative impact on the ball or signature itself again mentioned for extreme accuracy only. Nichols broke into the Major Leagues with the 1890 Boston Beaneaters winning (27) games to begin a string of (10) consecutive (20) win seasons. Interspersed were a Major League record (7) in which he recorded (30) or more and he lead the Beaneaters to (5) National League pennants during the period. He is the youngest pitcher in history to reach the three hundred win plateau and is currently ranked 7th all-time with a career total of (361). He was elected to Baseball's Hall of Fame in 1941 and autograph seekers were given a limited window of time to seek out his signature. The rarity of a Nichols single signed baseball can not be overstated with this the first we can recall auctioning and one of the finest condition examples to have surfaced.
