Description: Fine Ernie Stautner Pittsburgh Steelers professional model jersey c.1950s. Black dureen jersey with yellow stripe accents has number "70" sewn on front and back. A portion of the crotch strap has been removed (team alteration which was hemmed in the period) and another was folded over and sewn with a resulting lack of manufacturer tagging. Exceptional usage wear evident throughout with numerous areas of extensive team repair. Stautner spent his entire (14) year career with the Steelers and ranks as one of the premier defensive linemen in NFL history. His numerous career accomplishments include (9) Pro-Bowl and (10) All-Pro selections and he was named to the 1950s All-Decade Team and the NFL 50th Anniversary All-Time Team. In 1964 his became the first number retired by the Pittsburgh Steelers and it would be (50) years before the Franchise retired another (his remains one of only 2 to date).
