Description: Babe Ruth et. al autographed c.1930s scrapbook cover (incl. 8 HOFers) with related "Goudey Gum Co." letter. Heavy stock 7"x11.5" cover removed from a period scrapbook (with gilted titling on unsigned side) has been signed by (20) incl. Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Walter Johnson, Bill Dickey, Jimmie Foxx, Heinie Manush, Mickey Cochrane, Red Ruffing, and others. A dozen, including the prominent names, are done in fountain pen rating 7-8 out of 10 while the balance appear in pencil rating 6/7-8. Horizontal crease just below Gehrig's autograph and a minute tear above are the only condition issues worthy of note. Accompanied by a 1934 dated letter on "Goudey Gum Co." stationary (signed by the Treasurer) which references the album to which the cover was previously affixed as having been sent to the noted maker of baseball cards whom states that he is passing it along to Lou Gehrig to have signed.
