Description: Superlative Louisville Slugger full size baseball bat with six player decal decoration c.1911-16. Full size Louisville Slugger dash dot dash model bat of the highest quality measuring 34” in length retaining notably bold J.F. Hilerich & Son Co. center brand stampings. The bat has been decorated with a total of six individual player decals of Ty Cobb, Honus Wagner, Frank Baker, Eddie Collins, Harry Davis, and Napoleon Lajoie. The Wagner decal presents in outstanding condition with only a few minute chips. Frank Baker decal is stunning having only 2/3 tiny flakes. Ty Cobb decal has only a few minute flakes. The remainder of the decals each show varying degrees of light chipping. Both bat and decals exhibit outstanding original patina with surface gloss intact. Recently discovered and being offered for the first time publicly this particular bat is the only specimen of its type that we have encountered inclusive of the Louisville Slugger archival collection. It was likely produced in the period as a trade show display piece or possibly a master salesman sample item.
