Description: Pittsburgh Pirates autographed baseball with Clemente c.1960. Spalding W.Giles Official National League baseball has been signed by (9) members of the Pirates incl. Roberto Clemente (sweetspot), Bob Skinner, Vern Law, Bill Virdon, Tom Cheney, Joe Christopher, Don Hoak, and Coaches George Sisler, Frank Oceak. Period ink signatures rate 6 to 7/8 out of 10 with (1) lesser (Law) and an additional which has all but faded from view. Ball displays soiling and usage wear and a red line has been drawn below the signature of Hoak. We relate through the family history of our consignor that it has been passed along that the ball was used in the 1960 World Series although this of course remains impossible to prove.
