Description: May 31, 1968 Don Drysdale autographed 5th Straight Shutout game ball. Spalding W.Giles Official National League baseball displaying soiling and expected usage wear has been signed on the side panel, "To Jeff- Thanks for the help. My Best Always, Don Drysdale." Blue ink signature rates 7/8 out of 10. Several game related notations, as placed throughout in the period by Jeff Torborg who caught the game, adorn other panels. Drysdale would go on to pitch another shutout on June 4th extending the streak to (6) games; a National League record which stands to this day. In an era that the game has changed to the degree that it is improbable for a pitcher to throw (6) complete games in a season, let alone tally that number in (6) consecutive starts, it is nearly certain that the feat will never be duplicated.
