Description: 1906 Boston Americans and New York Highlanders season opener at Huntington Ave. Baseball Grounds, (2) large format glass plate negatives. Exceedingly rare early views of baseball played at the professional level. The Boston American and New York Highlanders are shown walking the field shoulder to shoulder and standing together during the 1906 season opener in Boston. Identified in period handwriting above the players. General wear throughout with some very small flaws in central portion and more pronounced loss at edges. Both can still be developed to great effect. Approximately 5"x7". Includes letter of provenance from the Brearley Family: GD-VGEstimated Price Range: ($750-$1,000)
