Description: Ted Williams sunglasses c.1960s. Desirable pair of black plastic flip-up sunglasses in similar style to those often seen in pictures of Williams taken late in his career. Player number "9" identifier written in customary spot on small square of trainer's tape adhered above the nose with some additional tape/padding below. Well worn with visible use and age wear including oxidation to hinges along with rusting on the spring. The left arm is broken as is the elastic band (portions of both included). Attribution is traced through the collection of Whallen "Whaley" Monica, a well known life long baseball fan who accumulated a noted collection of baseball memorabilia and spent time working with various camera crews and production companies covering World Series and All-Star Games as far back as the 1940s. Includes LOA from Hunt Auctions, a page relaying some biographical information on Monica, and the vintage box in which the glasses were long stored: EX
