Description: Significant Ted Williams Hall of Fame induction ring. Ted Williams' ambitions within the game of baseball were clear from the outset of his career. He was not a player who took years in the Minor Leagues to develop nor was he a player who spent his first two or three seasons adapting to the Major League level. Ted Williams was a baseball player who operated on another level since his brief stint in the Minor Leagues. His raw talent and exceptional hitting skills were evident to any and all that watched him play. That said, as he himself indicated in his Hall of Fame Induction speech, "Ballplayers are not born great. They're not born great hitters or pitchers or managers, and luck isn't the big factor. No one has come up with a substitute for hard work." Nobody in the history of the game worked harder at perfecting their craft than Ted Williams. It is almost universally agreed upon that had Ted not lost five years in the prime of his career to service in the US Military, that the baseball record book would be altogether unrecognizable as we know it today. In Ted Williams' induction speech he also stated that his election to the Hall of Fame "was the greatest thrill of his life." In that spirit, we are honored to offer Ted Williams Hall of Fame Induction ring. Handsome 10K gold ring has an image of the Hall of Fame on one side panel with "Outfielder" impressed on the nameplate. The other panel has "Williams" nameplate above crossed bats with "Elected 1966" below. The top of the ring features an inset baseball shaped decor in a black field with "Baseball Hall of Fame" raised lettering surrounding. "LGB 10K" is stamped on the interior ring band. Retains its original Balfour case and exterior box on which is notated "Hall of Fame Ring" in Ted's hand. Includes a vintage photograph of Ted Williams at his 1966 Hall of Fame Induction. Along with Joe DiMaggio's example, which we sold at auction in 2006, the presented ring ranks as one of the two most significant Hall of Fame Induction rings to have been offered to the collecting public to date: NM
