Description: Extremely rare 1943 St. Louis Cardinals World Series press pin. 2" Button style press pin dates to the War Years and as a result of metal shortages was manufactured out of paper and cardboard with plastic face. Exhibits minor age toning to plastic surface and wrinkling to interior paper/graphic. The plastic face has either dried slightly or was not entirely properly applied resulting in one edge very minutely separated (this is only visible when viewed from the back). Intact safety pin style back. One of the rarest and most desirable of all post-1920 pins, this is the first example we have handled or seen offered in recent memory.
