Description: 1941 Cotton Bowl "Outstanding Performance" trophy with related material. Imposing figural trophy presented to the Fordham player Jimmy Blumenstock who scored a touchdown in the game played vs. Texas A&M in Dallas. The piece stands over 20" tall with a cast player figure set atop full size metal football which has been lettered, "Outstanding Performance, Cotton Bowl." These are mounted on a circular base with with engraved metal band reading "Jimmy Blumenstock 1941." Included is Blumenstock's 1976 Forham University Hall of Fame Induction plaque (presented posthumously), (4) late 1930s to early 40s images of Blumenstock while with the Fordham team (sizes range from 5"x7" to 12.5"x14"), (2) c.1940s armed forces commendation letters, condolence letter sent to his mother following his untimely death, and a 1964 White House mailing envelope likewise sent to his mother.
