Description: Fine Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig autographed baseball from the Joe F. Carr Collection c.1927. Orange and black stitched "Wilson American League" baseball has been signed "Babe Ruth" (sweetspot) and "Lou Gehrig" (customary side panel position) in black fountain pen rating 7-7/8 out of 10. Written on the panel above, in period ink, is the date, "1927, Sept-17." The ball displays mild toning with a handful of minor scattered imperfections. An outstanding example with note to both dating (The Yankees were coming down the stretch of their much lauded Championship season) and unusually strong provenance.
