Description: Buck Leonard autographed c.1930s professional model "Leonard" bat. Louisville Slugger 125 model bat measures 34.5" long and weighs 36.8oz. The name "Leonard" has been block lettered into the barrel and it is signed "Buck Leonard" in marker rating 8 out of 10. Markings are deeply impressed and well preserved while the bat itself display useage wear throughout with substantial nail repaired damage to the back of the barrel. While the labeling period would slightly overlap with the earliest portions of Leonard's career, including his first seasons with the legendary Homestead Grays, it is more than likely that it was not produced for his use, rather made for someone sharing the last name. Regardless, it serves as a fine display piece and a suitable alternative to a game bat which is not likely to surface. One of the Negro League's most prominent players, Leonard played in the shadow of JosEstimated Price Range: ($1,000-$2,000)
