Description: George Burns professional model baseball bat c.1918. Spalding model bat measures 34 1/2" long and weighs 38oz. with vault marked model number B78 stamped on both knob and barrel ends. Block lettering "SPALDING" trademark stamped at center with "GEO BURNS" stamped on barrel. Bat exhibits good usage wear with a barrel crack and factory side writing "Geo. Burns 4-24-18". Burns was a quality Major League player for (15) years with the Giants and Reds leading the league in runs scored four times and collecting over 2,000 career hits. Includes LOA from SCD Authentic D.Bushing/D.Knoll and letter of provenance from the Hillerich & Bradsby Co: VG-EX
